MicroLouvre™ Sun screens


MicroLouvre™ is a commercial bronze wire that has been woven to form a fine mesh. A single louvre's thickness is equivalent to two strands of human hair. During the hottest periods of the year, the louvres are able to control direct solar transmittance as they are optimally angled.

In every meter of the mesh, there are more than 700 micro louvres. Each micro louvre is 0.3mm thick and 1.2mm wide, usually coated in black polyester that protects and allows a light-absorbing finish that inhibits re-reflected sun and light. However, the MicroLouvre™ is offered in a variety of colours to suit all applications.

Energy saving

MicroLouvre™ provides a 32% shading factor at both dawn and dusk, which rises to 100% shading or direct suns rays at and above 40°.

These mechanisms provide energy cost-efficient conditions that are both cooler and more comfortable.

The MicroLouvre™mesh is constructed using tiny louvres that are equivalent to the thickness of two human hairs, placed 1.4mm apart and angled at 17°.

Shading & Controlled light

MicroLouvre™ is popularly used as a sun shading or Bris Soleil device.

The micro louvres can be used to control or diffuse light as they are able to block 100% of direct light that is angled at and above 40⁰, and hide the light source in the opposite direction.

However, if required to, the mesh is able to allow 80% transmission of the light in a specific direction.


Controlling sunlight penetration

The MicroLouvre™ solution is simple and efficient: prevent the sun from reaching the window at all!

While there are numerous options that can resolve heat gain, some have proven to be more successful as using any interior shading is like applying a band-aid to a broken leg.

Simply explained, if no sunlight ever reaches the glass, there is no possibility that heat would enter and accumulate inside of the building.
